Class Descriptions

About Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Pilates and Meditation



We have more than 20 classes a week on offer so you are sure to find one that suits your goals (ie. relaxation, rehabilitation, toning, energy boosting and so on). If you're new to Life Source we recommend buying a 'New Student Pass' which allows you to try any 5 of our drop in classes at a substantial discount. This way you can try as many as possible to find the teacher and yoga style that you like best. We also offer private and small group instruction. Try yoga, pilates and meditation lessons whenver you like at your place or ours.

Alternatively, you can join a course - we run Beginners courses every 6 weeks. To discuss which course best suits your needs, call us on 8904 0202.  All equipment is provided and you don't need shoes, so just bring your comfortable clothes.

Our class maximum is 17 students. Below is a brief description of our classes.

Hatha Yoga

The most common type of yoga, Hatha combines postures (asanas), breath work, and meditation for a deeply relaxing practice. A great starting point for beginners, while more experienced students are always offered a special challenge.

Dynamic Flow Hatha

Dynamic Hatha is a more flowing style of linked yoga postures with breath work. This class provides a more intense work-out than other Hatha classes.

Enjoy flowing postures and more challenging sequences, sometimes infused with inspiring soundtracks.

Pilates

The focus of Pilates is on building physical strength from the inside out by building up core strength around the stomach and spine. Amazingly toning, you'll notice real changes in posture and muscle strength soon after beginning a regular Pilates practice. We offer drop in classes at lunchtime. Beginners are encouraged to join one of our 6-week foundation courses.

Prenatal Yoga

Life Source is a prenatal yoga specialist centre, with our classes featuring experienced specialist teachers. Yoga is highly recommended during pregnancy although if you are new to yoga, we advise you begin after the first trimester. We offer specialised classes with postures that are specially adapted to suit your needs during each stage of pregnancy. Our clients report that common complaints associated with pregnancy are often eased or disappear altogether as a result of practising yoga. The techniques learnt also prepare you for childbirth.

Teacher Trainee Led Classes

Once our yoga teacher trainees are nearly finished their one year training, they offer low cost classes open to the public. At these drop in classes, you'll enjoy personalised attention, allowing you to perfect your alignment and get personalised adjustments. All this for only $8! For class times, see our class schedule

Meditation

Numerous research studies have proven the health benefits of regular meditation to the extent that some health schemes in the USA now offer lower premiums to 'meditators'. It's also been proven to slow down the aging process. We offer 6-week courses for beginners and no, you don't need to sit in the lotus pose for an hour! Meditation is great for anybody at any age.
