See below for brief description of our other specialised types of bodywork.

Acupuncture

Treatment with TCM involves the use of acupuncture with possible addition of other modalities: Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina (Chinese massage), cupping (the use of heated cups for their drawing effect), moxibustion (the use of warming herbs over the skin) along with diet and lifestyle advice. These methods bring about change by remedying the root of the problem to create healing.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

There are many reasons why people may seek counselling & psychotherapy. Our practitioners use a range of different techniques to support clients in making the changes they desire whether it's an immediate problem requiring a quick fix solution or something involving deeper patterns of emotion and behaviour. Problems that can be treated include handling grief, self esteem issues, difficult relationships, depression or anxiety, addictions (including alcohol and drug use), dealing with a crisis, stopping smoking and lots more.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy takes a holistic approach to health by treating the underlying cause of ill health. It uses a range of natural methods including diet & nutrition, vitamin & mineral therapy, herbal medicine, Bach flower remedies, botanical medicine etc. Naturopathy can help with many health issues including digestive problems, respiratory disorders, immunity issues, hormonal disturbances and migraines. It can also support those preparing for pregnancy including infertility issues.

Ear Candling

The heat from ear candling creates a vacuum that pulls wax out of the ear for those with excessive build up. It's also good for fungal infections, sinus pain, headaches, earaches, tinnitus and glue ear.

Acupressure

Based on the same principles as acupuncture, this ancient therapy uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and energy around the body. Ideal for those who would prefer to remain fully clothed.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen is a gentle and deeply relaxing hands-on therapy designed to stimulate the body to engage in its own self-healing mechanism both physically and mentally. Gentle tension releasing moves are applied over specified muscle groups to stimulate neural pathways and help bring balance to the musculoskeletal framework, nervous system and soft tissues such as internal organs and fascia.

Ka Huna Massage Therapy

Prepare to experience new wonders! A Ka Huna full body massage will help relieve stress and fatigue, reconnect you to your physical self, revive and revitalise you.   This beautiful form of bodywork provides a holistic approach to healing by balancing the body-mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Ka Huna involves long, deep pressure strokes and movements rather than pointed, isolated pressure as in other forms of massage. Music is played and the therapist moves around the table working with energy while applying flowing soft and deep tissue massage in rhythm with the music.  Ka Huna is a lot more than a massage, it is an experience. Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage (LD) is a specialised form of manual body therapy which specifically focuses on improving the circulation of lymph around the body which helps guard against a variety of health issues.
It's a gentle manual treatment using light pressure and slow rhythmic movements. No oil is used. It is great for reducing swelling in puffy ankles & fluid retention, easing migraine, helping constipation and digestive disorders, promoting restful sleep, helping skin disorders such as acne, eczema or psoriasis, reducing pain in joint inflammation and rebalancing the hormone system at any time from adolescence to menopause. It can also help with flu, chronic fatigue, sports injuries, migraines and arthritis.

Reflexology

Based on Zone Therapy where each area of the foot corresponds to a part of the body, Reflexology massages the feet to stimulate or soothe imbalances in the body. Reflexology can help with stress relief, regulation of blood pressure, treatment of chronic conditions such as back pain, fertility problems, headaches/migraines, respiratory problems and skin conditions. It is also highly recommended during pregnancy. A recent study showed a reduction in the length of labour for first time mothers from an average of 25 hours to 6 hours if the mother has one session per month during pregnancy.

Tuina Massage

This gentle and enjoyable massage works on musculoskeletal level as well as working deeper on the meridians. Depending on the client, this massage can be done clothed or semi clothed and with or without oil.   During a Tuina treatment, the practitioner will diagnose your health condition according to Chinese medical theory. Acupressure points and therapeutic cupping (which is also used in some acupuncture treatments) may be used.
