Foundation of Jivamukti yoga

This 8-week course explores the key ideas and the 5 tenets of Jivamukti: Ahimsa (non-harming), Bhakti (devotion), Meditation, Nada Yoga (development of a sound body and mind through deep listening) and Scripture. Each class contains active and dynamic asana practice while integrating philosophy and spiritual teachings from ancient yogic texts, chanting Sanskrit mantras, meditation and inspiring music.

Learn the importance of core and apply principles of core strength and stability to avoid common injuries and deepen postures from a place of strength and balance. The roots of many common limitations and injuries in yoga (sore backs, shoulders, hips, etc) often come from a lack of awareness and ability to properly engage core muscle groups, thereby leaving the joints and spine unsupported and vulnerable. Awakening your core to feel freedom in your body, moving your practice to a whole new level.

Lower body workshop- Grounded, Strong and Confident
Easter Saturday, 3 April, 10.00am -12.30pm

Discover the correct way to use the legs and pelvis in your practice involving lunging, squatting and bending. The asanas introduced in this workshop, are designed to give balance to all parts of the lower-body and allows you to feel grounded and confident. A balance in strength and flexibility of all the muscles of the hip and legs will reduce the likelihood of injury to these areas ,especially the lower back and knees.

Upper body workshop- Opening the Heart to New Possibilities
Easter Sunday 4 April, 10.00am-12.30pm

Exlpore the correct way to use the the thoracic spine, shoulders and neck through the asanas involving back bending, pushing and twisting. Balance all parts of the upper-body preventing neck , shoulder and upper back injuries. The upper body is also the home of the heart and lungs and when it is balanced supports optimal respiration and circulation. Open your heart energy and connect with ease.

Yin Yoga - Tranquility, Peace and Surrender
Easter Monday 5 April, 10.00am-12.30pm

Allow yourself the feeling of tranquility, connect to your body, let the breath and mind unite as one and go to a place of softness where the mind is quiet and peace is revealed. Incorporating a series of long held seated poses (typically 2-3 minutes) this class will make the breath serene and calm and allow for deep relaxation peeling away all that isn't useful. After 2 hours of  opening the body, quieting down the nervous system and resting in the silence you'll leave your mat chanting.....AH!!!

BECOME A PRENATAL AND POSTNATAL YOGA TEACHER

This is the ideal course for yoga teachers or trainees who wish to specialise in teaching yoga classes for pregnant woman or new mothers.  This informative course will give you the skills you need to become a safe, responsible, adept and inspiring teacher for women during their pregnancy or post partum period.

NATURAL HEALTH FOR PREGNANCY

In March Kerrin Booth, Naturopath, will be offering 10% off one-hour Pregnancy consultations (usually $80).

During pregnancy it is particularly important that you are getting the right level of nutrients for your growing baby and yourself. Certain niggly symptoms during pregnancy can indicate a deficiency of vitamins and minerals and it is your Naturopath's area of expertise to recognise these deficiency signs and correct them before they become a bigger problem.

Your diet is important as a source of nutrients, and it is also important to check that you are not eating too many preservatives and that caffeine and alcohol are kept to a minimum. Although it is ideal to get all your nutrients through your food, especially in pregnancy supplementation is recommended as insurance against any deficiency.

Naturopathy is also excellent for treating various pregnancy ailments, such as leg cramps, heartburn, morning sickness, varicose veins and haemorrhoids, constipation, tiredness, insomnia and feelings of anxiety and depression.
